TOYOTA DAIHATSU ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING CONFIRMED THAT ONE OF ITS EMPLOYEES’ HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19
AsiaOn 24 March 2020, we, Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing (TDEM), would like to confirm that one of our employees has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Please note that TDEM is Toyota’s regional headquarters for engineering and manufacturing functions across the Asia Region and is located in Bang-Bo, Samutprakarn*. Under the guidance of relevant local authorities, and on formal confirmation of the test result today, we are announcing this immediately.
The safety and security of our employees and all of our stakeholders is paramount to us. Keeping this in mind, and under the guidance and support of the relevant national and local authorities, we are taking immediate, comprehensive and transparent actions necessary to prevent any spread, including temporary closure and disinfection of any areas concerned within the company premises. Furthermore, we have quarantined those employees who have had close contact with the infected member, through appropriate contact tracing.
Note that this incident will have no impact on Toyota’s manufacturing, sales and customer service operations in Thailand and other countries. Please be assured that the products and services of Toyota and Lexus are completely safe.
We regret any inconvenience and anxiety this incident may cause. We will continue to take preventive measures to deal with the issue, closely working and strongly cooperating with various stakeholders including the relevant local authorities.
Note: * TDEM is different entity from Toyota Motor Thailand (TMT) which operates production and sales of vehicles and offer other services in Thailand.
